Cynthia Elaine McGraw 65, rural Frankfort, passed away December 5, 2014.  She was born in Lafayette, IN  in 1949 to Marvin & Phyllis (Cripe) Cooley.  Cindy married  William J. McGraw  in Goodland, IN.  They were married over 45 years.   Together they owned and operated Knox Flower Shop in Frankfort. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort, and a loving mother of 7 children and loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort.

Husband: William J. McGraw, 6 Daughters: Vanessa Beard-Ely (Husband Daniel), Naomi Ferrel (Husband Jon), Carmen Ruch (Husband Craig), Danielle Swem (Husband Lee), Erin Joyner (Husband Brian), Cynthia DeFazio (Husband Anthony), 1 Son: Nathan McGraw (Wife Amandala), Mother: Phyllis Cooley, 2 Brothers: Michael Cooley & David Cooley, 1 Sister: Jan Kleingartner and 15 Grandchildren.

Preceded by:

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Cooley, sister Kathy Wing, and her father Marvin.

    I am so very deeply sorry for your loss. Erin and I were in the same CCD classes growing up and I always remember your beautiful family at church, especially around the holidays growing up. Cindy was a wonderful, sweet, and very caring woman. My husband and I were married 4 1/2 years ago and she did our flowers and they were truly beautiful!! Almost a week ago she laid out a grave blanket on my sons grave out at Bunnell Cemetery and it looks gorgeous!! She had a true gift of decorating that is for sure. I will never forget her and I know that she will live on inside each of you and everyone that she knew. I will be thinking and praying for you all today and in the difficult days ahead.

    What a beautiful woman Cindy was. Growing up at St. Mary’s and seeing you all at church on Sunday mornings was a true testimony to your mothers love for all of you. She was just in our shop getting her haircut on Wednesday… Girls I must tell you she was letting her hair grow out for you, Bill she was telling us that you were giving her a hard time for getting her haircut “again”. We loved hearing stories of you all. Cindy took such good care of our family when we lost my dad, for that I am forever grateful. Much love and prayers to all of.

    To all of Cynthia’s family, I loved her & I will always remember her just as she is in the picture in the notice of her death. She always had that beautiful smile & always ready with her laugh at a moments notice. She was so kind to everyone. I for one will truly always miss her. My heart aches for all of you.     Cindy was a wonderful, caring person with a true talent for flowers and making you feel special. She took such good care of me over the years and when Marc passed she was incredibly understanding and genuine. She just always knew what I was looking for. She would always help and bailed us out a few times with last minute flowers for events. Whenever I stopped in it was nice to catch up and hear stories of the kids and grandkids and she would always ask about my family, remembering previous conversations and asking for updates. She truly was a beautiful person.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Cindy was a sweet, loving, caring person. I started working at Clinton Prairie in the 3rd grade as an aide. Cindy was the one who “showed me the ropes” . I work at Paul Phillippe Resource Center and we get flowers to sell in the summer from them. They both are very endearing people and Cindy will truly be missed. So sorry for the families loss she was a great person.

I know we never met face to face but we talked frequently over the phone when I was placing my orders. You might remember talking to me when I’d request the card to say from the “Thundering Herd”.
