Cornelio T. “Marty” Martinez

Cornelio T. “Marty” Martinez 72, of Colfax, died Sunday June 21, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.  Born September 16, 1942 in Dasorda, Mexico to Conrado & Guadlupe Martinez. He married Revena Martinez and she preceded him in death.  Marty was a graduate of Lebanon High School and was a self-employed carpenter. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served for 3 years, and then served over 25 years with the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Frankfort American Legion and was of the Catholic Faith.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Coach Kids, envelopes will be available.

3 Step-Sons: Raymond Tillotson of Lafayette, Fred Tillotson of Stockwell, Gary Tillotson of Clarks Hill, 2 Brothers: Nate Martinez of Lafayette, Thomas Martinez of San Antonio, TX, 4 Sisters: Marcelina Martinez of Mission, TX, Gloria Wells of Jamestown, IN, Juanita Lara of Mission, TX, Gloria Alice Galvin of Mission, TX and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded by:

a brother Daniel Martinez.

    Very sorry for the loss of Marty. I was a member of the 113 Medical Battalion with him here in Lafayette and even after our unit was transferred to Indianapolis. He was a great guy & will be always remembered. My prayers to his family in this time of sorrow.
