Clifton Dwain Knuckles, 80, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away August 3, 2024 at his home.  He was born August 22, 1943 in Morehouse, Missouri to William R. & Thelma (Downs) Knuckles.  He married Cassius Pelfree on June 15, 1973 and she preceded him in death.  He then married Linda K. Goldsberry on June 1, 1978 and she survives.

Clif was a 1962 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Illinois.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1966.  He had been employed by Sun Chemical Corporation for a number of years.  He was a member of the Community Christian Church.  Clif loved to spend time camping, fishing, playing cards, especially Pinochle, reading, and pitching horseshoes.  He was known for his love of God, family and friends.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 12 Noon -3 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Community Christian Church, 1944 S. Jackson St., Frankfort, IN. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3 p.m. at the church with Mike Whitacre officiating. Graveside services will be held at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Frankfort, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Christian Church, envelopes will be available at the service.

Knuckles of Frankfort, Daughters: Heather (Troy) Scott of Matherville, Illinois and Julie (Chris) Tanner of Lincoln, Illinois, 6 Grandchildren: Braden (Jessica) Tanner of Pinehurst, Texas, Maddie (Kenna) Tanner of Walnut Hill, Illinois, Cade Tanner of Normal, Illinois, Kaylee Schumaker of Moline, Illinois, Kyra (Moises) Herrera of Moline, Illinois and Aleanah Scott of Matherville, Illinois, 2 Great-Grandchildren, Emery Rose Herrera and Harper Lee Tanner, Sister, Dorothy Ann (Larry) Myers, Brother, Mic (Micki) Knuckles

Preceded by:

his parents, 3 brothers, Don Knuckles, Ted Knuckles and Roger Knuckles, 2 sisters, Betty Gregg and Brenda Wallace, and a son, Benjamin Knuckles

    I loved Clif since the fist day I met him. He was a great guy. When he has his stroke I would go see him a lot in Indy. He knew who I was when I would go to church and would be happy to see me. I will miss you and love you.

    I’m sorry for you loss. Clif was a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of doing family pictures for Clifton and Linda a few years ago. They were the sweetest people I have met in my career doing photography. Please except my sincere condolences for your loss. Prayers for all of you and Linda.

    Linda and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Clif was an amazing man that always had a smile on his face and a huge hug to give. You both truly became a part of our family and I am so glad that we got to see you at mom’s birthday party! Clif and momma are in heaven together talking about the bible I am sure.     Cliff was a good man who loved God and the good folks at Community Christian Church. It was my privilege to work with Cliff when I served there as an elder. He served His Lord right up to the end. His race is complete and now He can enjoy the fruits of his faithful service.

    My goodness! My first memories of Clif Knuckles go back to the 1980’s when he started dating Linda Goldsberry. He was such a unique individual. He always had something to say and loved to joke with everybody. Linda, I won’t be able to come but my heart will be with you and your family.     So sorry for the huge loss. Dwain was the life of the party. You knew as soon as he arrived. He loved everyone. Made a point to make everyone feel noticed, special. Never heard him speak negative. I can just imagine the party that busted out in heaven when he arrived. His love shined bright through him. His earthly struggles from the last few years are over. He is totally healed. Love him.

    Great Uncle Dwain was one most genuine people I’ve ever known. He had the ability to light up a room when he entered it…the Holy Spirit has always been noticeably present within him. He is is home and in comfort with the Lord. Sending my condolences to Aunt Linda and the rest of the family. I’m going to miss his big smile and his uplifting spirit.
