Charles W. Moore

Charles Wesley Moore, 68, of Frankfort, died June 19, 2022 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  He was born on November 17, 1953 in Frankfort to Lela Mae (Smith) Moore.  He was previously married to Delores Combs and they divorced.

Charlie was a 1971 graduate of Clinton Central High School and attended West Virginia University for a year and a half.  He served in the United States Marines.  He worked at Staley and Alcoa in Lafayette.  He was a member of the Moose in Frankfort and enjoyed playing pool, fishing, attending concerts and hanging out with his friends at the Animal House and the Kirklin American Legion.

Memorial donations be made in Charlie’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS  66675.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 8-10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Surviving are his Daughter: Melanie (Michael) Polston of Frankfort; Son: Jordan Moore of Delphi; Sister: Jesse Darlene Winkel of Kokomo; Half Sister: Martha Moore of Hillisburg; along with 2 Grandchildren.  

Preceded by:

He was preceded in death by his mother.

    Melanie, your dad was as good as it gets. Kind, thoughtful, funny and fun to be around. You were very lucky to have him in your life. Cherish the memories. He wouldn’t want you to be sad for too long. We will miss him.

    This is so sad to hear. I worked with Charlie on 11/7 at Alcoa/ Arconic on the stretchers, Wow we all had some fun. I heard so many good stories from Charlie. Such a kind man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Prayers for his family.

    I worked with Charlie for many years at Alcoa. There was never a dull moment with him! Such a kind, funny guy. And the BEST stretcher operator even when he started losing his sight! Sending prayers to the family
