Camilla “Cam” Brock

September 13, 2024

Camilla “Cam” (Elser) Brock, 98, of Lafayette, Ind., passed away on September 13, 2023 at The Springs at Lafayette.  She was born on September 24, 1924 in Lafayette to Frank and Mildred (Dailing) Elser.  She married Francis E. “Frannie” Brock on June 4, 1949 and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before his death on November 19, 2013.

Cam graduated from Saint Francis Catholic School in Lafayette where she was 1943 Homecoming Queen.  She worked at Alcoa in Lafayette from 1943 to 1950, which is where she and Frannie met while playing Euchre during lunch. They bought the farm in 1952 and moved to Montgomery County.  Together they farmed for 32 years until they retired in 1984 and moved back to Frankfort.  She was member of the American Legion Auxiliary in both Colfax and Frankfort, and the Frankfort VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed attending Cincinnati Reds baseball games with Frannie.  She loved farming and her greatest joy was her family and attending to them, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
