C. Robert Hawley 84, of Kirklin, IN, died at 9:45 p.m. February 16, 2012 at Wesley Manor Health Care Center. Born March 16, 1927 in Clinton County to the late Charles Oliver & Cora Edith (Robinson) Hawley. He married Phyllis Jean Ricketts on June 6, 1946 and she passed on September 19, 1994. He then married Ida Ruth Smith on March 19, 1995 and she passed on September 27, 2009. Mr. Hawley was a 1945 graduate of Kirklin High School and a lifelong Clinton County resident. He was a farmer, and worked as a broker with Village Square Realty. A longtime treasurer and caretaker of Oak Hill Cemetery, he was also County Commissioner from 1972-1976, Clinton County Fair Board President, past Master of Kirklin Masonic Lodge #443, and a member of York Rite. He was the founding member of the Clinton County Soil & Water Association, ASCS Board and Past President of Farm Bureau Credit Union. He was a member of the Kirklin Christian Church and an Elder there.
Visitation and Services
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-6 Sunday, February 19th at the funeral home with a Masonic service beginning at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Kirklin Christian Church or Kirklin #443 Masonic Lodge

2 Daughters: Janet (Bob) Thorley of Kirklin and Jean (Louis) Evans of Pickard
2 Step Sons: Marshall (Phoebe) Smith of Frankfort and Harry (Connie) Smith of Lafayette
1 Step Daughter: Susie Rhine of Frankfort
8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren a step daughter and an infant brother.
