On Saturday, December 24, 2022, Bryan Gene Smith, loving husband and father of eight, passed away at age fifty-one. Bryan was born to Helen (Blanton) and Larry Smith on December 13, 1971 in Frankfort, Indiana. He was one of four children.
Upon graduating high school Bryan went on to serve 20 years in the US Navy. After his retirement he went on to become a contractor for MESA. Upon relocating to South Carolina, he met Kim Chi, and they went on to marry on October 30, 2019.
Bryan enjoyed firearms, spending time with his wife Kim Chi, and his children. He was best known for being hard headed, full of laughter, and fiercely loving his country.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. January 6, 2023 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on January 6th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, Ind. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial at 5 p.m. at the American Legion, Post #12, 451 W. Clinton Street, Frankfort, Ind. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages donations be made to the funeral home to help defer final expenses.

his wife Kim Chi, his children, Wednesday Smith, Anthony Tran, Maitland (Caio) Baker, Angel Tran, Zoey Smith, Andrew Tran, Gage Smith, and Addisyn Smith, 2 grandchildren Liam & Noah Baker and siblings, Randy Brock, Donna (Robert) Beishuizen, and Teresa (companion Byron Stockberger) (Brock) Trent, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
