Betty Lee Gearheart

Betty Lee Gearheart, 96, of Frankfort, died August 1, 2024 at Milner’s Health Care, Rossville, Ind.  She was born October 6, 1927 in Roselawn, Indiana to William E. & Eva (LaCosse) Clinton.  She married James E. Gearheart on January 12, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1987.

Betty was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Ayr High School in Mt. Ayr, Indiana.  She worked for Mallory Control/Emerson as a quality control inspector for 30 years, retiring in June of 1992.  Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in the 70+2 class.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, was previously on the board of the Clinton County Humane Society and was an avid quilter.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin on 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Clinton County Humane Society.

Daughter: Linda (Gordon) Gilmore of Frankfort, 2 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren

Preceded by:

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a son, Russell Gearheart, grandson, Grant Gilmore, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

    Sending our condolences on the passing of your sweet mother. Betty enjoyed talking to our beagle when we’d be out for a walk (on Maple Drive). Many fond memories.

    So sorry. It’s the end of a generation. She was a wonderful woman who was a blessing to me. She will be missed. The sisters are together again.
