Bertha “Judy” Likens, 88, of Frankfort, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette.

Mrs. Likens was born February 23, 1927, in Burkeseville, Ky., to Charles and Elizabeth (Norris) Garrett.

She married James W. Likens on December 10, 1942, in Lebanon, Ind., and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2010.

Mrs. Likens was a homemaker and attended Frankfort Schools.

She previously attended the Faith Family Church and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed painting, wallpapering, restoring homes and bingo.

 

 

 

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 8, 2015, from 1-3 p.m. and services will follow at 3 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in Mrs. Likens' name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Survived by:

Surviving family members include three daughters: Janet Boller of Colfax, Erma (Jack) Kelly of Frankfort and Mary Birge of Frankfort; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded by:

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joyce, son-in-law Kenneth Boller, and three sisters and three brothers.

    Mary…you and the family are in my prayers. I ask that Jesus sends His Comforter to each of you. Katelyn, I went to school with your Aunt Mary…knew there was something special about you!!!

    Mary, Janet and all Bertha’s family, I loved her dearly, worked with her many many years ago at the cigar factory. May GOD get you thru this time of loss. She was a wonderful lady.
