Barbara J. Ricker, 95, of Frankfort passed away July 7, 2024 at Wesley Manor Retirement Community. She was born on December 18, 1928 in Frankfort to William Norris and Pauline (Morrison) Caldwell. She enjoyed 55 years of marriage to Ted B. Ricker, whom she wed on November 16, 1947 in the Michigantown Methodist Church, he preceded her in death on July 29, 2003.
A life-long Clinton County resident, Barbara is a 1947 graduate of Michigantown High School. While in high school, she developed a pen pal relationship during WWII with a girl from England. They had a long-lasting friendship and were able to meet in both England and Michigantown. She was Secretary for the National Cigar Factory, Derrick Insurance and Mellinger Insurance in Michigantown. She was a devout member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, where she often gave the liturgy and was part of the Widow’s Group. She volunteered as a Pink Lady for the hospital in Frankfort and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed games, including bingo, bridge, card games, and Rummikub. She also enjoyed knitting and traveling.
Memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s honor to the Wesley Manor Good Samaritan’s Fund, 1555 N. Main Street, Frankfort, IN 46041.
Visitation and Services
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 in the Amanda Reid Chapel in Wesley Manor, 1555 N. Main Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort is honored to assist the Ricker family.

Surviving are her Son: Jay B. (Nancy) Ricker of Pendleton, Brother: James G. (Phyllis) Caldwell of Frankfort, 4 Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son: Christopher R. “CR” Ricker.
I met Barb at Wesley Manor many years ago. I will surely miss her, your friend Rosie
