Anna Mae King

Anna Mae King, 101, formerly of Kirklin, Ind., died March 30, 2021 at The Waters of Lebanon, Lebanon, Ind.  She was born October 4, 1919 in Boone County, Ind. to Bernard & Marie (Buzan) Walker.  She married Roscoe W. King on September 23, 1939 in Tipton County and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2000.

Anna Mae was a 1937 graduate of Thorntown High School.  She lived most of her life in Clinton County.  She had worked at the Kirklin School, Clinton County Hospital, Community Schools of Frankfort and Southside Elementary School.  She also helped as a door greeter at Goodwin Funeral Home.  She was a member of the Kirklin Christian Church for over 60 years, currently a member of Scotland Christian Church and also a member of O.E.S. #534 in Kirklin for over 58 years and was Past Worthy Matron several times.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to the Scotland Christian Church, 4001 E. Scotland Road, Kirklin, IN 46050. Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Survived by:

Daughter: Rosalind M. King of Indianapolis, Son: Mark A. King of Frankfort, 2 Sisters: Virginia White of Antioch and Eileen Allen of Lebanon, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Preceded by:

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Wayne E. King in 2019.

    Rosalind and Mark, I am so sorry for your loss. She had a good long life and got to see so much happen and change in her lifetime. She will be missed in the King family for sure.

    Such wonderful memories of Anna Mae. Kirk’s Crossing, Eastern Star, cafeteria staff at South Side, and she baked the cake for our wedding. She touched so many lives with her kindness. She will be missed.

    I’m so sorry I missed Anna Mae’s celebration! I learned so much from her! I worked with her at Southside Elementary, from making wedding cakes to Always putting almond in any cherry dessert! She was a wealth of information and I am a better person because of Anna Mae King . Jeanne Jones Felty
