Aileen M. Ford, 98, of Frankfort, died May 16, 2018 at her home, with her family at her side.  Born September 18, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan to Daniel & Mary (O’Keefe) Delaney.

Aileen was graduated by Loyola University of Chicago, School of Nursing.  A veteran of the U.S. Army, Aileen was 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during WWII.  She was a nurse for 26 years at the Clinton County Hospital.  Aileen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, was active in the Ladies of Charity and Alter & Rosary Society at the church and was a member of the Red Hat Club.  She was always helping others and was a longtime volunteer at the Paul Phillippe Resource Center, which she and her sister Kay Metzger helped organize and start.  She cherished spending time with family, especially her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Family services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Father Dominic Young will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Honors Section of Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survived by:

Daughter: Judith Ann Landes of Frankfort, Ind., 2 Grandsons: Jeremy (Tonya) Landes of Center Point, Ind.and Trent Landes of Chicago, Ill., 2 Granddaughters: Linsey Dillingham of Frankfort, Ind. and Kristie (Bryan) Stevens of Frankfort, Ind., 1 Sister: Norinne Delaney of Chicago, Ill., and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded by:

She was preceded in death by siblings, Lucille Keating, Tom Delaney, Mary Springer, Kathryn ‘Kay’ Metzger and a son Richard Ford Jr.

    Judy and family, I’m so sorry for your loss and it is a great loss indeed. You know how I adored your mother. I haven’t seen both of you for many years, but was so glad to catch up with you on Facebook and hear of how your mother was doing. She was a dear sweet angel. Please know that my prayers are with you and your family in this sad time. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved parent, but we also know that she is safely in the arms of our Savior and for that we rejoice.

    To my cousin Judy and your family:
    Although we have not seen each other in years my memories of your mom and my dear Aunt Aileen are filled with her warmth and humor, all so beautifully shining through in your video tribute. She was a special lady.
