Betty J. Mockerman

Betty J. Mockerman, 84, of Lafayette, went to be with our Lord September 19, 2024 at Franciscan Health, Lafayette, IN.  She was born May 25, 1940 in Tompkinsville, KY to Hurley T. & Donnie T. (Walker) Martin.  She married Donald J. Mockerman Jr. on December 25, 1958 in Frankfort and he survives.

Betty was a 1958 graduate of Frankfort High School and had lived in Tippecanoe County since 1973.  She worked as a kitchen supervisor for Mulberry Lutheran Home for 22 years, retiring in 2002.  She had attended the former Assembly of God Church in Frankfort.  Betty was a DAR member.  She enjoyed quilting, cake decorating, gardening and sewing.  She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Koman for the Cure, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380.

Husband: Donald J. Mockerman Jr. of Lafayette, Children: Konnie Herrington of Mulberry, Donna Walker of Lafayette, James Mockerman of Lafayette, Dianna (Jay) Bennett of Lafayette, Brothers: William P. Martin of Frankfort, Boyd L. (Berenice) Martin of Frankfort, 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Martin and son-in-law, David Walker.

    Don and family
    I am sorry to hear of the passing of Betty. My dad, Don Scott and mother Ike Scott, had been friends of the Martin’s and Mockerman’s for years. Heaven has gained another great lady. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
