Paul William Del Valley, 38, Christ Follower, Husband, Father, Minister of Jesus Christ entered the Gates of Heaven on July 19, 2024. He was born on July 2, 1986, in Danville, Illinois to his beloved parents, Raymond Earl and Cheryl Lynn (Lovett) Del Valley of Cayuga, Indiana.
A 2005 graduate of North Vermillion High School in Cayuga, Indiana, Paul pursued a higher education at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bible in 2010. Paul was a devoted Christ follower, loving husband, devoted father, and a dedicated minister of Jesus Christ. He moved to Colfax in 2014, where he took on the role of lead pastor at Colfax Christian Church, forging deep and lasting friendships. He had immense gratitude to the Elders at the Colfax Christian Church for their unwavering support and love over the past decade. He expressed that it was never just a job, but much more like being a part of a loving family. The unity among the Colfax churches and their shared community picnics were cherished moments for his family.
Paul’s passion for serving extended beyond Colfax. He also previously ministered at Chrisman Christian Church for 4 years and served with Northwest Haiti Christian Mission for 2 1/2 years, leaving an incredible impact on everyone he met. He also dedicated many years to volunteering at Hanging Rock Christian Camp and recently helped co-establish the Best Sermon Ever Conference with his good friend, Jeff.
In addition to his work in ministry, Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking trips to various destinations, including the Rocky Mountains, Appalachian Mountains, Garden of the Gods in Colorado, and Lake Superior, where he once hiked 32 miles.
Paul is survived by his parents whom he loved deeply. Great memories were made through their mutual love for sharing meals, talking, playing euchre, and just being together. It is his deep wish for his parents to love even twice as hard. He is sure when they “catch up” in heaven, Grandma Anna Marie will have a deck of cards ready to play.
Paul was also very thankful for his loving siblings: Sister Brittany and Brother-in-law Hector Perez of Terre Haute. Hector was the only brother he ever had and held a special place in his heart. His Sister, Megan Orman of Cayuga, and Sister Serenity Del Valley of Cayuga. Paul prided himself on being the baby of the family until they adopted Serenity.
Paul was so extremely blessed to spend his life with his high school sweetheart and devoted spouse, Kayla Ann Conrad, whom he married on May 23, 2009. She was his faithful partner in life and love, sharing his faith in Christ and together raising their 4 amazing children.
The greatest joy of Paul’s life were his kids. His daughter, Anna Marie, is most like him in how she thinks, an avid reader and remarkably responsible “mini mom” of the family. Virginia Anne, affectionately known as their “Ginibug,” is the most compassionate with her ability to bring calm to his storm with her hugs and her sense of humor. Everett William, the son Paul didn’t know how much he wanted until God brought him to them bringing immeasurable joy into their lives with his love for working with his hands, building things, and messing with his siblings. His profound connection with his mom and his empathetic nature were a source of great pride for Paul. Little Ivan William, the unexpected blessing, looks most like Paul. Ivan said he was “Daddy’s boy, but Mommy’s baby.”
In his life and in his death, Paul has given an incredible witness and testimony for faith in Christ. His love for his family, for the church, for everyone he met, and mostly for his Lord was abundant and clear. That ministry will continue to live and extend from now and into eternity.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on July 26, 2024 at Colfax Christian Church, 314 S. Clark St., Colfax, IN 46035, followed by funeral services the next day, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Colfax Christian Church, where Kevin Purdy will officiate. Graveside Services will be held at Plainview Cemetery, Colfax, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Colfax Christian Church on behalf of Kayla and the kids.
My deepest condolences to Kayla and the entire family! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!

Facebook Twitter GoogleMy heart aches for Paul’s family, prayers for comfort & peace to all during this most difficult time… Growing up, Paul was always “my best friends little brother”, we didn’t not get along. We were just aquaintances. I couldn’t stand his smart remarks & witty comebacks, lol. But through my best friend, Paul’s sister Megan, I got to see him grow & mature into the awesome man you all know, love & cherish. He will be immensely missed by all, but never forgotten! My condolences.

Facebook Twitter GooglePastor Paul’s godly reputation reached across the communities at large. I was never privileged to meet him this side of Heaven but was profoundly inspired by his life and ministry. It was an honor to lift this godly man up in prayer and I will continue for his family, both blood and in Christ. I look forward to standing at the bema seat as thousands of us witness the many jewels of rewards he receives in his crown. What a life well done!

Facebook Twitter GoogleDeepest love and hugs.. Paul William will be missed so much but I know his legacy will continue through the people he touched and his love for people, his family and Christ.
I will always remember babysitting Paul William, Megan and Brittany when they were little as I helped my Aunt Cherie out one summer. And the times we spent together when the cousins would get together at Grandma Anne’s house growing up.
We didn’t have much of a relationship as adults, but I followed his journey and was amazed at how unbreakable his faith is. I want to have that.
Give hugs to Grandma Anne and we’ll meet again as I follow your example and look for God.
I love You Paul William.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Paul, however somehow I feel I knew him. Connie Conrad spoke of him often to me and I knew Paul Del Valley through GRIEF SHARE at the Cayuga Christian Church of which I was a Co-Leader. I also knew some of the Del Valley family that attended Vermilion Heights Christian Church many years ago. I have total respect for all those I have mentioned because they DESERVE respect. Please know that I will be and am Praying for your entire Family. I know God IS with all of you, so I’m asking that he please help all of you through your GRIEF. Always remember, “In every tear that falls from your eyes, it’s all because YOU LOVED a Special GIFT FROM GOD, Paul Del Valley! SMILE and TAKE TIME to WORK THROUGH your grief because I promise You, you will NEVER get over the grief, however, you will Learn to WORK THROUGH it with God’s Love and ‘HE’ will bring you to a Peaceful understanding!” GOD IS SO GOOD, ALL THE TIME!

Facebook Twitter GoogleI was surprised to hear of Paul’s passing. There were so many prayers on his behalf I thought for sure that God’s healing hand would touch him. As time went by and reports about Paul came, I thought how great this miracle was going to be. Then when he passed I thought, its still not to late, what a miracle it would be. But the miracle already happen, it was Paul. His love for God, Jesus, Kayla, the kids, the church, the community, the person at the store and at the restaurants, God made him. We may never know the miracles that came about because of the love shown through one man and Jesus Christ.
May the memories of the good times bring joy to you all. God Bless.

Facebook Twitter GooglePaul has been an amazing friend and blessing to my son, Phil, and me. He was here at our house at about 9:00 am on my birthday, Dec 31, 2022 the morning after Phil almost bled to death. It was due to hemorrhaging from his fistula on his arm that they use for his dialysis treatments. Paul was happy to take a suitcase to him for me to the Greenwood area hospital where they transferred Phil from Lafayette. We had texted on that Friday night and he texted Sat morning that he was going to go to visit him. I was exhausted from the long night at the ER with Phil and asked Paul to please come here first. I was able to go back to bed and later enjoy my birthday get togethers as planned. Such a terrific guy always there for us and so many. My sincere sympathy for dear Kayla, their wonderful children, families and friends.
May God’s comfort and blessings flow for all during this time.

Facebook Twitter GooglePaul was one of the most exceptional young ministers I’ve had the opportunity to get to know and work with. He was a delight to serve with when he organized the men’s gathering at Cayuga several years ago, and invited me to come and speak. We stayed in touch ever since. There are some pastors that have a heart, that is so pure and unselfish that they touch the hearts of other pastors. Paul was that type of person. He loved his family so much, served the Lord so faithfully, and encouraged the rest of us in the Kingdom of God in such an exceptional way. I’m so sorry, but my family will be out of town for a relatives wedding and will miss the visitation and memorial service. But we will lift up Paul’s family and the church at Colfax in prayer as you celebrate this exceptional godly man & we will be honoring you in our hearts from a distance! Does that seem OK?
Sincerely,
George and Sue Linn Ross
and families.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI did not have the privilege of knowing Paul personally; however, my brother, John Haram, deeply loved Paul and has spoken so highly of him. John asked me to put him on my prayer list and the prayer list of my sisters in Christ in Cincinnati (my on-line Bible study sisters). We’ve been praying for Paul and his dear family for several months. Those prayers were not answered the way we would wish, but they certainly were the way God wished them to be answered, weren’t they. In praying for Paul with John, and in reading this beautiful tribute to him, I can see what a lasting mark he’s made on so many people. Our prayers will continue for you, Kayla, and for your four beautiful children!

Facebook Twitter GoogleI worked with Paul many years ago on staff for NWHCM. Back then Paul was young but totally passionate to whatever he put his hand to. His love and devotion to family was very evident. Like so many people we have been praying for Paul, Kayla and the kids. There is something so very special in finishing well, and Paul has definitely done that. We will continue to pray for the family as they mourn the earthly loss of Paul. May the Father’s love surround you and support you one step at a time.

Facebook Twitter GooglePaul is now rejoicing with his Savior!! It was an honor to call Paul a friend. When we would see each other at Pastor retreats, or just out and about he always had a smile and a kind word! He called me once to ask some advice from a “seasoned and experience pastor” his words. I thanked him for not calling me old! Paul had a heart to see people come to Jesus! I will miss seeing him at retreats and my prayers are with his family and church family!

Facebook Twitter GoogleI only met Paul earlier this year, at the “Best Sermon Ever“ Conference. My heart is just broken that I have to wait until Heaven to get to know my new friend better. To his parents, wife and children, and Colfax Christian Church family, you are in my heart and my prayers. God bless you all, and I pray that your hearts be comforted in the knowledge that we will see Paul again!

Facebook Twitter GoogleI am honored to have known and called Paul a dear childhood friend. Some of my fondest memories with the “neighborhood kids” include Paul front and center. We got a kick out of doing nothing as young adults, and I remember being beyond proud of Paul as we graduated high school and went on to the next journey. While we had our moments growing up together, as “brothers and sisters” do, I knew no matter what, Paul had my back and was always rooting for me. Paul continued to root for me, and I for him, as adults, even though we didn’t keep in touch as much as I think both of us would have liked. He let me know there was always a place for myself and my husband at his church, and sent loving words of encouragement as I was approaching parenthood. While Paul leaving his earthly body is really hard for me to process, I know that his spirit of love, passion, laughter, generosity and compassion live on and are found in the faces of Kayla and their beautiful children, and beyond. I remember Paul telling me once in high school that this better not be “the good ole days,” and while we both laughed, I think Paul and I shared a common ground of the heart of a seeker. While we found what we were looking for on different paths, I think we had an admired respect for wanting something more than the mundane and material things in life. It is beyond evident that Paul found that through his work as as spiritual leader and preacher, and through his beloved family. I’m honored to have known and loved Paul, and send my utmost love, prayers, thought and healing energy to Kayla and their children. Till next time, dear friend.

Facebook Twitter GoogleDeeply saddened to hear about Paul’s passing though grateful that his suffering is over. Please let us know if we can be of service in any way. Your family is in our prayers.
