Dortha Anne (Ploughe) Thompson, 87, formerly of Clinton County, Ind., died January 2, 2024 at The Springs in Lafayette, Ind. She was born January 18, 1936 in Kirklin, Ind. to Preston & Bessie (Douglas) Ploughe. Her marriage was to John Thomas Thompson on November 18, 1956 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1997.
Dortha was a 1953 Graduate of Sugar Creek High School. She was a legal secretary, working for Robison Robison, Bergum, Johnson Law Office for 12 years. Dortha was a past member of the Jefferson Methodist Church and a member of the Brookston United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 Noon Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral service will begin at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Brookston United Methodist Church, 206 E. 4th St., Brookston, IN 47923.

Lafayette, Debra Thompson of Indianapolis, David Thompson of Lafayette, Siblings: Norma Macis of Austin, TX, Dale (Arlene) Ploughe of Kirklin, Sisters-in-law: Joanna Thompson Silver and Evelyn Ploughe, Grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Alli, Jason, Colby, Kristen, Great-Grandchildren: Kaylee, Tucker, Lillianna, Conner, Grace, Cole and Aubree.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 12 siblings: Lois, Mabel, Preston, Verna, Vera, Mary, Joe, Ralph, Jim, Tom, Marge and Bill.
