Doris I. (Johnson) Hines Holmes, 91, a longtime Frankfort resident, died December 30, 2023 at Grand Brook of Zionsville, Ind. She was born November 2, 1932 in Frankfort, IN to John Roy & Pearl (Penrod) Johnson. She married Richard K. Hines on September 11, 1955 in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1989. She then married Richard K. Holmes on November 2, 1991 at the First Christian Church in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2017.
Doris was a 1951 graduate of Frankfort High School and was very involved after graduation with her class reunions & gatherings. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church, where she was very active. She was a former member of the Frankfort County Club where she especially enjoyed participating with the Ladies 18 Hole Golf Association, and was a former member of the Ladies of the Moose. Doris was an avid Purdue & Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play soccer.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be 12 Noon – 2 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Whitaker will officiate. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Cancer Fund, 258 1/2 Fourth St., Frankfort, IN 46041 or the Clinton County Humane Society, P.O. Box 455, Frankfort, IN 46041.

(Lori) Hines of Indianapolis, IN, Doug (Lisa) Hines of Syracuse, IN, Step-Son: Steve (Carol) Holmes of Elyria, OH, Step-Daughters: Connie (Brett) Sharman of La Center, WA, Karen Holmes of Tallmadge, OH, Sister: Ruby Hamm of Kokomo, IN, Grandsons: Andy Hines & Matt (Kristen) Hines, Granddaughters: Betsy (Jarred) Coffing & Shelby (Brady) Woodruff, 6 Great-Grandchildren: Kohen, Addison, Emma, John, Oliver, and Boone, 5 Step Grandchildren also survive.

Aunt Doris I will always cherish the many memories made with you during my childhood. You were the perfect aunt and you had a big heart. I will remember everything you did always in my heart. Our Father called you home so fly high with all the angels. Love you always and forever.
