Michael A. Hunter 91, Frankfort, IN, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Wesley Manor. Born May 22, 1919 in Hungary to the late Michael & Elizabeth (Szcus) Hascsak. He married Mary Yost on January 11, 1942 in New York City and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2005. Mr. Hunter was a 1938 graduate of Stuyvesant High School and received his BS degree from Northeastern University in 1965. He resided in the Boston, MA and New York area before moving to Frankfort in 1976. Mr. Hunter was manager of the engineering department at Mallory Controls, retiring in 1982. He had previously worked for Phier Corporation in Boston, MA. He was of the protestant faith, served on the Civil Air Patrol, was a life member of the Moose, member of Murat Shrine, Masonic Lodge, and Scottish Rite. During WWII he worked for the defense industry for Ford Instrument Co., in New York City. His interest includes, hunting, boating, flying, model trains and airplanes and traveling.
Visitation and Services
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of Donor’s Choice.
