Lori A. Leighty, 59, of Michigantown, Indiana passed away Wednesday, February 8th following a courageous battle with cancer.
Lori was born to James and Sharon (Donoho) Unger on August 18, 1963. In her younger years, Lori enjoyed working with her family’s horses and cheerleading for Rossville High School. In 1976 she met the love of her life, Scott Leighty. The two married on June 29th, 1985.
Lori devoted over 30 years to Huntington National Bank and was a faithful attendee of Michigantown Christian Church for many years. Lori loved Jesus deeply and exuded strong faith in every circumstance. She was an avid fan of the Clinton Central Bulldogs, attending sporting events long after her own sons graduated. Additionally, she made a point to encourage nieces and nephews in their various activities by actively cheering them on from the audience. Lori lived a life marked by incredible kindness, untethered joy, and unmatched devotion to her family. She was known for her gifts of hospitality, generosity, intentional conversation, saying exactly what was on her mind, and the way she adopted anyone into her family. No one was left out when Lori was around and absolutely no one left her home hungry. In recent years, Lori could often be found serving at her church, caring for her parents, completing home projects, going on trips with friends, and bragging about her grandchildren to anyone who would listen. Of all her titles and achievements, she was most proud of being “Mom” and “Mimi.”

Facebook Twitter GoogleScott, Matt, Jacob and family,
There are no words…… Lori had one of those personalities that could light a room with her mere presence! People were drawn to her because she was kind, funny, and could connect so easily! You just felt good being around her. She could do that. We remember fondly our fun times together on South Wagon Wheel Trail with our babies (Matt Matt and Ausnuaght ( Austin)) and a boat trip on Lake Cumberland. You have our deepest sympathies and prayers.
