Walter W. ‘Doc’ West

Walter W. ‘Doc’ West 68 of Frankfort, IN, died 11:23 am June 6, 2010 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, IN. Born February 25, 1942 in Wayne County, KY to Cecil Lee & Elma (McDaniel) West. He married Sharon K. Martin on September 30, 1961 in Frankfort and she survives. Mr. West attended Mills Springs School and grew up in Wayne County, Kentucky. He moved to Indiana in 1961 at the age of 19. He worked for the Frankfort Street Department for 9 years, retiring in 1984. Mr. West was known as the “tomato man”.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 8th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses.

(Dan) West Hickerson of Frankfort 2 Brothers: Henry (Mary) West of Frankfort and Rex (Cathy) West of Monticello, KY 1 Sister: Carrie (Charles) Bates of Monticello, KY 14 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren

Preceded in death by daughter, Mary Etta West, granddaughter, Nikki Nicole Morgan and 11 brothers and sisters.
