Roland “Mike” Riggs

Roland “Mike” Riggs, 58, of Frankfort died Wednesday November 22, 2017 in his home. He was born on February 18, 1959 in Wooster, Ohio to Orville Gene and Jean I. (Moses) Riggs. He married Kimberly Brown on December 17, 1988 in Frankfort and she survives.

Mike was a resident of Frankfort for 40 years and attended Clinton Central Schools.  He worked for Exide Battery in Frankfort for 16 ½ years and Fairfield in Lafayette for 10 years.  He enjoyed fishing and working with wood.  He was an animal lover and spent lots of companion time with his dog China before her death in 2016.

Memorial Donations may be made in Mike’s honor to the Clinton County Humane Society, 825 Izaak Walton Drive, Frankfort.

Visitation and Services

Friends may visit 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort.  Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the funeral home.  Pastor Mark Mowery will officiate.  Burial will follow the services in Green Lawn Memorial Park Frankfort, IN.

Surviving along with his wife, Kim are his Daughter:  Jennifer Lashbrook of Dayton, IN;  Step-son:  Christopher (Callie) Mahoney of Michigantown, IN;  Step-daughter:  Chasstity (Ross) Ford of Frankfort, IN;  Brothers:  Guy (Millie) Riggs of Somerset, KY and Curtis (Heidi) Riggs of Somerset, KY;  Sister:  Debbie (Mickey) Kidd of Monticello, KY; and 5 Grandchildren.

Preceded by:

He is preceded in death by parents, an infant sister:  Pam Riggs, and brother: Terry Riggs.

    Walter and I are so sorry for your loss. Mike was always cracking us up every time we were out. He was a great person and is going to be missed greatly.

    Kim, Chris and Chasstity and family,

    Sorry to hear about the loss of Mike. I remember meeting and chatting with him on several occasions when I was a teenager. A lot of good conversations about knives, fishing, and stuff related to outdoors. We will keep your family in our prayers.
