Reita Elaine Price

February 8, 2016

Reita Elaine Price was born September 16th, 1949 in Clinton County, IN to the late Herb & Betty (Fuller) Price, and went home to be with the Lord on February 8th, 2016. She was a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School in Frankfort, Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN, and Indiana Business College, in Indianapolis.  Reita started her career with Home Hospital as a medical records transcriptionist, and retired in 2014.  Reita loved God, and loved people. She had served as a Sunday School Teacher at the Apostolic Bible Church in Frankfort (now Christian Life Church), and most recently as the Director of Single’s ministry at Christ Memorial Temple in Lafayette.   Her life was a testimony of God’s love, and she impacted many people in her time on earth. Even in her terminal diagnosis, she stood strong in her faith, and faced the challenge with grace and faith in God. Her desire was that her obituary notice simply serve as a change-of-address notification, as she moved into Heaven.

Cousin Rita was a gentle creature filled with God’s love and true Christian spirit. I feel I did not know her probably as well as I should have because of the distance in our ages. But I will always remember her as quiet and gentle and full of love. She is in heaven with Aunt Betty, Uncle Herb and Uncle Bud (Daddy) now. I am certain she was met by these angels and now sits at the feet of Jesus with all of them. I am sure they were there to welcome her home, and I am sure she has heard the words rest now your work on earth is done oh good and faithful servant!

I will always remember Reita’s beautiful smile. No matter where I saw her she always had this beautiful smile. Even though we didn’t see each other very often when we did it was like we had never been apart. I have known Reita since the late 50’s. She has left a mark down here on earth that everyone will remember her. God received a angel. She is in our fathers arms now and rejoicing. She’s in a more beautiful home then we could ever imagine. Praying for Reita’s family for peace and comfort during there time of grieving.

I worked at the hospital with Reita. I always remember her laughing and smiling. I know she is smiling now being with her Lord and Savior. May the strength of the Lord bring you comfort in this difficult time and the days ahead.

DeWayne, Cheryl and family. I was sorry to read that Reita had passed away. I had lost track of Reita over the years. When I worked with Cheryl years ago at the utility office she would keep me updated about Reita as well as your parents. I remember Reita and the family when I would attend church with Larry and Shirley Camp (my brother and wife). The Price family was just a really friendly, humble family with parents who loved the Lord. Herb and Betty passed that love for the Lord on to their children. I know you will miss your dear sister, but we know she has seen the face of Jesus and she is truly “home” at her “new change of address” for all eternity. This young lady is celebrating with saints, how beautiful is that. So think of Reita and smile and know she is whole and well. Take care of yourselves. Sincerely, Jenny (Camp) Harris

Unfortunately I did not have the pleasure of meeting Reita, but I was very touched by her wish for her obituary to be simply a change of address notice. I will carry that thought with me forever as I’m sure those who knew and loved Reita will always be blessed by the values and memories she shared graciously with others. Celebrating a life well lived.

To the family of Reita Price…you have had a loss in your lives and I understand that. Reita was warm, caring and had the most wicked sense of humor! Almost every year that we made our trip to Indiana, I spent one night with her. With most of my relatives, I felt I had to “get to know them all over again” each year. I didn’t feel that way with Reita. She always had the same sweet spirit; it is who she was. We send all our love,

Reita, Thank you for witnessing to me way back in 1969 and inviting me to church. It gave me chance to know Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. If it had not been for Reita telling me of her experience then my life would not have changed. Jesus has been so good to me over the years. God Bless the Class of 67 at Clinton Prairie. Reita was a wonderful example to us all. Thank you Reita, love you all.
