Ray Junior Stevens

Ray Junior Stevens 87, of Boyleston, IN, died at 12:45 a.m. March 20, 2011 at his home. Born October 14, 1923 in Frankfort, IN to the late Harry Lee Ray & Florence E. (Morris) Stevens. He married Helen Brant on June 26, 1948 in Delphi, IN and she survives. Mr. Stevens attended Frankfort Schools and was a lifelong Clinton County resident. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Atlantic and Pacific during WWII. He had worked at Alcoa, National Homes, and Nickel Plate Railroad and then retired from Exide Battery. He attended the Boyleston Baptist Church. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge (old timer) and American Legion.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, March 21st from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Whiteman Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Boyleston Baptist Church, envelopes will be available.

Wife: Helen Stevens of Boyleston 2 Daughters: Kathy A. Blanch (Don) of Michigantown and Sheryl E. Fisher (Clyde) of Hardy, AR 5 Grandchildren: Blake Blanch (Susan) of Carmel, Blair Blanch (Laura) of Michigantown, Brie Blanch of Chicago, IL, Tina Kaser (James) of Paragould, AR and Tammy Newman (Mike) of Jacksonville, AR 5 Great Grandsons: Alex, Nicholas and Elijah Blanch and Jordan and Seth Kaser

Preceded by:

Ray was the last of 6 sons and was preceded in death by Harry, Chalmer, Morris, Gene and Gerald.

    I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Ray Jr.’s passing. Although it has been a while since I’ve seen you, I often thought of Uncle Ray Jr. I am sending this via email as I will be leaving later today and be out of town on business until late Wed. evening.
