Michael E. Douglas 66, of Frankfort, IN, died August 2, 2015 at 10:30 P.M. in his home.  Born March 27, 1949 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late James W. & O’Neal (Henson) Douglas. He married Christy Short on January 1, 1990.  He was a retired Frankfort Attorney and former Clinton County Prosecutor. Michael graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 1967, Ball State University in 1971 and then Indiana University Law School in Indianapolis. Mike was a member of the Clinton County BAR Association and The Souls Harbor Baptist Church.

Visitation and Services

Friends may visit from 12 noon-3 p.m. on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 3 P.M. Wednesday August 5, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Survived by:

Wife: Christy Douglas of Frankfort, IN, 2 Daughters: Lisa (Jay) Pierce of Frankfort, IN, Allison (Greg) Conrad of Lanesville, IN, 5 Grandchildren: Abigail, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Jackson and Ella.

Preceded by:

a brother, Chris Douglas in January 2000.

      We are so saddened to hear about Mikes passing. My husband Joe is from Frankfort and his aunt Sue Shore called tonight and told us about it. Please accept our thoughts and prayers for your family. Joe has many memories of Mike when he would join him during the Christmas holidays at his Aunt Loucille Woofendales house.     I am very sad to hear of Mikes passing. He was always so kind to me and my family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was fun to joke around with. My family and I enjoyed attending church and worshiping God with him. He was always cheerful and had a smile on his face every time I saw him. He Loved the Lord, and showed it in his life. I know he’s rejoicing now. I am sad for his dear wife Christy and his family. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

    So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I know this will be so very hard on Christy & All the family. Christy you surely have a lot of memories to treasure.     So very sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He had such a big heart and would do anything for anyone! I am so thankful for everything that he taught me in all the years I was fortunate enough to work with him! He will be missed.     Our hearts are very sad at the passing of Mike. He was very dear to our family and helped us so many times in the past when it came to legal matters for my mother. Our condolences to you and your family, Christy. What a comfort to know Mike is with the Lord .

    We are so saddened by Mike’s passing. Not only was he our cousin, he was a friend and brought Christy into our lives, what a blessing! He was always so willing to help where ever needed as was Christy. He was a stong believer in Jesus Christ and gave his life fully to Him and now is in His presence. What a reunion in heaven he, my mom, Phyllis Vickers and Aunt Sue Campbell must be having. Oh, to be a fly on the wall. We are going to miss him so much, we had so much fun on our travels together, just wish we would have had more. We love you Christy and are here for you. We are so sorry we were unable to make it back for the service, I’m sure it was beautiful.

    I just learned of Mike’s passing today and not in time to attend the services. I am an attorney and have known Mike since 1977 when I first became a memebr of the bar. He was a good attorney, good man and a mentor to me in the early years of my practice. My condolences to the family. He will be missed.

    My condolences to the Douglas family and his many friends. I was a classmate of Mike’s, going back to grammar school at Kyger (before South Side was built.) I remember the last time I saw him, sitting on his new motorcycle, on South Jackson Street, with his lovely wife (summer of 2012 when our 1967 class had held its 45th reunion.) He was, indeed, a great person and his passing is a loss to us all.
