Marie R. Cox

Marie R. Cox 85, Frankfort, died December 26, 2013 at Wesley Manor. Born May 15, 1928 in Grant County Indiana to Seber & Della (Woodring) Roberds. She married Richard “Hoyle” Cox on July 29, 1955 and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2000. Mrs. Cox graduated from Jefferson Township High School, near Upland, IN; she then graduated in 1949 from Marion College (Indiana Wesleyan) and received her master degree from Ball State University. She began teaching at Lincoln Elementary in Frankfort and retired from Bon Air Elementary in Kokomo. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women and Friendship Class there.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Hopewell United Methodist Church.

Survived by:

2 Step Sons: Gary N. Cox of Lake Chapala, Mexico, Merlyn H. Cox of Fort Wayne, Brother: George (Diana) Roberds of Eureka, MO, Sister in Law: Mrs. Joe (Bonnie) Roberds of Hartford City, 2 granddaughters, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Marilda, Margaret, Pearl and 2 brothers, Joe and John.

    To the family fo Marie Cox; We are sadden by the loss of your mother and grandmother. We knew your parents
    when they taught at Bon Air School in Kokomo! What a lovely couple! Both were dedicated educators. Now the
