M. Maxine Sanders

M. Maxine Sanders 94 formerly of Flora, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  She was born on August 7, 1923 in Clinton County to Ernest & Elsie (Davis) Mathews.  Her marriage was to Wayne Sanders on June 13, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1999.

Mrs. Sanders retired after working 16 years in the Frankfort Community Schools cafeteria.  She was a member of the Flora United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards, traveling, spending time with her family and her sweet cat “Tinkerbelle”.

Visitation and Services

Private family services are being held at the Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Jeff Landon will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Flora United Methodist Church, 103 E. Main Street, Flora, IN 46929.

Daughter: Vicki (Husband-Dan) Wolf of Lafayette, 2 Grandchildren: Julia (Husband-Roy) Hoskins of Flora, Chad (Wife-Lori) Wolf of Rossville, Sister: Virginia Campbell of Frankfort, Sister in Law: Connie Vaughn of Cutler, and 4 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by a half sister: Audra Burkhardt.

    I worked at Frankfort High School Cafeteria with Maxine. She was always so upbeat and pleasant to work with. Good memories.
