Kenneth “Wayne” Jobe

Kenneth “Wayne” Jobe, “Pine Dog”, 72, of Kirklin, died at 1:26 p.m. July 9, 2017 at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, Ind. Born July 14, 1944 in Barren County, Kentucky to Raymond D. & Ruby L. (Hamilton) Jobe. He married Linda D. Beets on December 31, 1973 in Westpoint Christian Church and she survives.

Wayne attended 1st grade at Temple Hill Grade School in Thompskinsville, Kentucky.  His family moved from Kentucky when he was seven and he worked for Jimmy Joe Davis with his dad. He was a 1962 graduate of Clinton Central High School.   Wayne retired from Allison’s in 1992 and worked part time at Precision Truss and Penske Truck Leasing.  He was a member of The Sons of the American Legion in Kirklin, the Beard Masonic Lodge and served on the Kirklin Town Board from 1980-1983.  Wayne enjoyed camping, gardening, motorcycle riding since he was 20 years old, mushroom hunting and fishing.  He loved spending time with friends at the Sheridan Legion, talking about the old days.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 12 Noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Wife: Linda Jobe of Kirklin, 2 Sons: Kenneth Ray (Melinda) Jobe of Kirklin, Jerrid (Chris) Jobe of Frankfort, 1 Daughter: Melinda Pryor of Kirklin, Brother: Gary (Ellen) Jobe of Kirklin, 6 Grandchildren, Rachel (Adam) Applegate, Jenny Pryor, Kortney Jobe, Diane (Max) Ebert, Andrew Jobe and Calvin Jobe, Mother-in-Law: Dorothy Beets.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Rex Beets.

    Linda,
    You and your family are in our prayers. I’ve lived in Arizona for a long time, but I’m glad we got to visit with you and Wayne a couple of years ago when we were back for a visit. Take good care of yourself.

I’m sorry we can’t come to express our sympathy on Wednesday but I’m watching my grandkids in Schererville this week. May God comfort you and the family in the days ahead.     Aunt Linda and Kids, We were so sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. There is not much that we can say that will ease your pain at this time, but know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Wayne will certainly be missed by all of his friends and family. Take care and stay strong.
