Jack D. Heimbach

Jack D. Heimbach, 74, of rural Kirklin, died at 6:53 a.m. September 5, 2018 at Franciscan Health East, Lafayette, Ind.  He was born April 19, 1944 in Frankfort, Ind. to the late Paul L. & Audra L. (McQuern) Heimbach.  He married Pamela D. Blubaugh on July 2, 1966 and she survives.

Jack was in the first class to graduate from Clinton Prairie High School in 1962 and was a lifetime resident of Clinton County.  He retired from the Frankfort Police Department in 1988 and served as Assistant Chief for 4 years under Chief Paul Underwood. He also worked for Oliver Trucking and Dahmen Trucking and helped on the Bill McQuern Farm.  Jack attended Scotland Church and was a member of the F.O.P.   He loved his family, church family, enjoyed motorcycling, riding horses and camping in Brown County.  He enjoyed his daily Pepsi fountain drink, listening to Elvis on CD and watching NASCAR on TV.  He will be missed by his family, friends and especially his kitten, Theodore.

Visitation and Services

Private family graveside services will be held. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the near future. Memorial donations may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice or Scotland Church.

Wife: Pam Heimbach of rural Kirklin, Daughter: Cheryl (Tony) Martin of rural Kirklin, Son: Brad (Erica) Heimbach of West Point, Ind., Brother: Jerry Heimbach of Frankfort, 3 Grandchildren, Caleb Martin, Zach Heimbach and Hannah Heimbach.

    He must have been such a neat guy for his obit to mention that he loved his kitten. Must have been a very nice guy. So sorry, Cheryl! Hang in there. This is the hard stuff.

    So very sorry. We remember lots of fun and laughter when our kids were little. Sure enjoyed riding horses back then too!! Jack always had a good word. So glad to see you in church also. God bless your family with peace and comfort.

    We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Jack Heimbach, we want to send our deepest condolences to the family, always a extreme loss to all of you! We never know when this might happen to any family, and want you to, know how much we wish you all love and understanding at this time! This is a time of remembrance and love that will help soothe your sorrow. Jerry of course is a great person and know that Jack having the same parents was also!     Pam, so sorry to hear of your loss, we had a lot of fun together years ago and could always count on Jack in the fall to do whatever needed done on the farm. He was a great man.

    Pam, Cheryl and Brad, So sorry to hear about Jack. Didn’t know him very well but knowing the three of you this makes me so sad for you. I lost my Dad 16 years ago on the same day as Jack. It is so hard and I will be praying for you Pam and the rest of your family!!
