Gretchen Holloway 77, of Colfax, IN, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Witham Hospital in Lebanon, IN.  She was born on August 16, 1937 in Lafayette, IN to Lawrence Parker Holloway and Karolyn (Kilmer) Holloway. Gretchen graduated from Colfax High School in 1955 then received her BA and Master’s Degree from Purdue University. She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, hiking, puzzles, loved all her pets and most of all spending time with her three grandchildren and family.

Visitation and Services

Family Services were held at the Plainview Cemetery, Colfax, IN. Memorials may be made to the Colfax United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 277, Colfax, IN 46035 or the Clinton County Humane Society, P. O. Box 455, Frankfort, Indiana 46041.

Survived by:

2 Daughters: Lauran Denise (Husband-Timothy) Swain of Colfax, Donna Jean (Husband-Ben) Robertson of Rural Frankfort, IN and 3 Grandchildren- Miranda, Mallory and Mason.

Preceded by:

her parents and two brothers – William C. Holloway and John P. Holloway.

    Gretchen and I grew up neighbors and friends, often riding our bicycles to each others home to play paper dolls and design clothes. Lots of good memories. We lost track of each other after high school and then our marriages, but I’ve continued thinking about her often. My sincere condolences to her daughters and families.

    I was saddened to learn of Gretchen’s passing. I met her several times when I was in high school as I was a friend of Donna’s. To Donna and Lauran, blessings on your families today. Miss you, Donna and think of you often.
