Garland E. Habegger

Garland E. Habegger 83 of Pickard, IN, died at 6:46 a.m. at his home on August 26, 2011. Born July 6, 1928 in Berne, IN to the late Wilbert & Sarah ‘Minnie’ (Brown) Habegger. He married Daisy Deloris Royse on August 8, 1948 and they spent the next 63 years together. Mr. Habegger attended high school in New Castle, IN and also attended Ivy Tech. He worked as a Journeyman HVAC for Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo, retiring after 42 years. He was a member of the Hills Baptist Church in Pickard and the UAW. Among his many interests were fishing, gardening, candy making. He especially enjoyed his family and the family camping and fishing trips.

Visitation and Services

Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, IN, with service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 30th at the South Mound Cemetery, New Castle, IN. Memorial donations may be made to Clinton County Humane Society, envelopes will be available.

Wife: Daisy Habegger of Pickard, IN 2 Daughters: Teresa M. (Buddy) Burfeind of Englewood, FL and DeeAnn (David) Halvorson of Noblesville, IN 2 Sons: Samuel G. (Laura) Habegger of Minneapolis, MN and Daniel V. (Denise) Habegger of Cyclone, IN Brother: Glendon (June) Habegger of Anderson, IN 13 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Moore and a brother, Gerald Habegger.

    Dan & Family: I was home this weekend and saw the obituary for your father, husband and grandpa! … I’m sorry for your loss! You all will be in my prayers for many days to come! Please know that many will pray for you and console you during this very difficult time. That’s why we should all cherish growing up in small towns like Pickard, Forest, Michigantown and Kirklin! We all care about each other even when we haven’t seen each other for many many years. … God Bless you all!
