I was taken aback when I read that Daris had passed away. He and I used to run around together in high school. I have not seen him since 1952 or 1953. In 1953 I joined the Marine Corps. and other than occasional visits to Frankfort have not been there.
Had I tried to locate Daris I would have no doubt failed since he too had moved away. I have on occasion driven by where he used to live, most of that is also gone now too.
Looking at the picture of him in the paper, (my sister sent it to me), he is one of the few people I would have recognized if I had met him on the street. He looked pretty much the way he did in high school, other than aging like the rest of us.
He was always a fun loving person. I am sure he was a great husband, father, and grandfather. Even though I have not seen him in all these many years, he will still be missed by me.
The next time I am in Frankfort, I will stop by Green Lawn and pay my respects.
I am sorry for your loss.
    Boyd K. Leavitt
