Audrey LaVaughn Meadors

Audrey LaVaughn Meadors, 86, of Frankfort, Ind. passed July 30, 2018 at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.  She was born on November 16, 1931 in Clinton County to Edd and Mabel (Laughner) Ridenour.  She married Charles K. Meadors on April 20, 1952 in Hopewell Church, Frankfort and he survives.

Audrey grew up attending Hopewell United Methodist Church.  She was a 1949 graduate of Michigantown High School.  She was the main cook at Clinton Central for 18 years and retired from there.  She enjoyed being outside doing gardening and yard work.  She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort.  Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Frankfort.

Surviving family includes her Husband:  Charles K. Meadors of Frankfort;  Son:  Rick Meadors of Kokomo;  Daughter:  Kathy Johnson of Frankfort;  Sister:  Irene Richey of Frankfort;  Grandchildren:  Paul (Sujung Kim) Johnson, Addy (Brent) Faulkner, Shalee Meadors, Joe (Tami) Cass, and Lacy Cass; and 7 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded by:

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers:  Garland, Harley, and Reldo Ridenour, and 1 sister:  Maxine Sproal.

    My condolences to the family, she was my grandmother Evans cousin and worked with my mom Judy Hendrickson for several years at the CCHS kitchen. She was a wonderful person and always fun to talk to. Thoughts and Prayers to Chuck and the all the family.

    Rick and Kathy…..so sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing. We will never forget the delicious ham loaf she made for the reunions! It was so good.

    Audrey was my substitue Mom when I was growing up. She was so much fun and a wonderful woman. I’ll always cherish the wonderful times we had during my grade & high school years.

    Chuck, I didn’t see this till today. I’m sorry for your loss and had I known before this I sure would have been at the services. I have thought of you several times and thought of going to see you folks again. Again, I am sorry you lost Audrey.
