Alene Passmore

Mikayla’s favorite Nana, Alene Alice Passmore went to be with the Lord on the 12th day of August, 2011. Born July 30, 1940 in McCrory, AR to Wilbur M. & Almira D. (Roberts) DeWitt. On May 12, 1961 she married LeRoy Passmore, he preceded her in death on September 1, 1996. Nana was a loving, kind hearted mother who enjoyed spending time with her grand daughter, family and friends. She was an avid gardener, loved quilting and sewing, and made everyone around her smile. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and cooking home made meals for all her family to enjoy. Alene was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Frankfort where she had been custodian for over the last 20 years.

Visitation and Services

A funeral service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, August 17th at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Alber officiating. Visiting 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. She will be laid to rest following the service in Green Lawn Memorial Park next to her loving husband. Memorial donations in honor of Alene may be made to the Grace Baptist Church, 900 S. Maish Road, Frankfort, IN 46041.

She is survived by her loving companion, Rick Stewart of Kokomo, a son, Jason (wife Regina Perry) Passmore and granddaughter Mikayla all of rural Frankfort, a sister, Elsie Durbrow of Frankfort, brothers, Gilbert DeWitt of Frankfort and Dillard DeWitt of Mishawaka. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews

Preceded by:

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and William DeWitt, sister, Donna Cavanaugh and an infant sister, Mary DeWitt.

    Jason,
    I know you don’t remember me, but I lived in the same building with the lady who used to babysit for you, May Bogan. I remember you and your mom. I am so sorry to hear that she has gone. May you be blessed with many wonderful memories to carry you and your family through this difficult time.
